Why join the AAB?
The AAB represents over 600 people working in the advertising, marketing and communications industries in, and around, Baltimore. Our goal is to stand as an advocate, inside and outside, of Baltimore. In just the last year, the AAB has taken steps to keep state advertising and PR contracts with state agencies. In cases ranging from the Baltimore Area Convention and Visitors Association to Maryland Public Television to Maryland universities – the AAB has, and will continue, to stand up for its members.

What does the AAB do?
The AAB sponsors important events each year to help inform and educate its members and to allow those members to showcase their talents to other members and prospective clients. Ranging from speaking engagements with political analysts like NBC’s Tim Russert to 10-person panels discussing sports marketing – the AAB continues to seek out interesting, timely and informative guests for its programs. In 2006, we’ll be bringing back our “advertising 101,” a multi-part series that puts the best and brightest in front of people new to advertising, or those looking for a refresher.

Your membership will allow the AAB to continue to be an important resource for area students pursuing an education in advertising and/or design. In fact, in just the last few years, the AAB has provided area students with over $20,000 in scholarships and access to the best and brightest talent in the market. Our goal is to keep good talent here and give our members an opportunity to find it.

Then there’s the Addys. This competition, which is the first step in the National Addy Competition, is our hallmark event. Organized by members of the AAB, for members of the AAB – this event is second only to membership in terms of what helps the AAB continue. We hope that you’ll consider – as a benefit of membership in the AAB – participating in this event either as an entrant, attendee or sponsor.
